How long should it take before having sex in a new relationship? In an attempt to explore the above question in relation to intimacy and love, Sarah, The Fatboy Show presenter on RX Radio, opined that the couple should get it as fast as possible.
“I don’t think you should wait. I think you should get it out of the way as soon as possible. I say this because most times men will string on a woman and vise versa for different reasons. Men will think they are interested in a woman yet they are actually lusting over her without being in love with her,” Sarah explained.
She posited that some men chase women because they are curious about seeing them undressed and so dump them after getting what they wanted while some women withhold sex to manipulate the man for material resources.
“If you really like to find out if you're in love with somebody or really interested in them, get the sex out of the way because it your urges could be clouding your judgment. So get on with it, and if you’re still interested in this person, then maybe you can go on to withhold it for as long as possible,” she added.
Unlike Sarah, Daniel Omara, her co-host, said he would take a week before having intimate relations with his dating partner just to know if the person is a good companion.
“Before we get to the sex, I want to know if there’s anything more to you than sex because as men, sometimes we don’t see the post-nut coming either. So I would give it a week to know if I like you or I want to smash,” said Daniel.
In Daniel’s opinion, some women don’t confirm a relationship status with their dating partners yet men are sometimes interested in situationships rather than actual relationships. He said most women end up heartbroken because of failing to understand this in the intial stages of dating .
But Sarah considered defining the relationship status first a wrong move saying that having sex as fast as possible in a relationship limits heartbreaks and unnecessary attachment of feelings.
“Even before that one week of the conversation, get it out of the way, then have a real talk about whether you still feel the same way for each other. But if it is awkward after that, just don't,” she emphasized.
