Fatboy: Police’s explanation for missing guns that are killing mobile money agents is pathetic

RX Radio proprietor and presenter James Onen aka Fatboy has dismissed explanations by the Police authorities that the illegal guns criminals use to kill mobile money agents in the various parts of the country were stolen from security agencies.

Mr Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson, without naming any security agency a few days back explained that the guns were stolen from security agencies and being used illegally by illegal hands.

According to Fatboy, there is no way common thugs would easily steal guns from protected security rooms.

He said, “I think the security organs need to give a more convincing explanation. It is either that there are some insiders from the security organs that are helping out the thugs or the security officers are the ones killing people. In anyway, there is a proper way to hold the responsible security personnel responsible because if you already have the guns, it is easy to identify which unit they were stolen from,” Fatboy on Friday’s The Fatboy Show.

His co-host Olive Najjuma also noted that the Security agencies needed to up their game and protect working Ugandans.

“I heard that the mobile money users have been advised to start closing businesses at 6pm. That is to early, what police needs to do is figure out a way of ensuring that people are able to do their businesses without being scared of when a thug would attack them and kill them. I see security guys everywhere, what are they doing if not protecting Ugandans?” she wondered.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy and Oliver Najjuma every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
