RX Radio Presenter James Onen aka Fatboy has seconded the decision of Members of Parliament to reject chopping a two million-shilling portion of their salaries towards the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines.

The notion which was refuted by loads of criticism was raised earlier this week by Zombo Woman MP Esther Afoyochan. She proposed that each parliamentarian contributes the sum towards purchasing the Pfizer vaccine for facilitating learners to return to school.

Fatboy’s Co-host Olive, in dismal, said Ugandan legislators are only self-centered which makes them care less about the life of citizens.

“Our members of Parliament are in for their stomachs, I wonder why we don't change our country’s motto to ‘For God and My Stomach’,” she chuckled as she said.

However, Fatboy sided with the MPs and said the government has already borrowed heavily towards the same quest.

“Government has approved many budgets and acquired numerous loans that amount to billions of dollars just to obtain COVID vaccines. I then understand why this would rub some people the wrong way because as a taxpayer, I feel the same way when the government turns to me for COVID vaccine contributions yet all vaccines the country has received are donations not to mention the scandalous handling of COVID-19 funds,” he went on to add.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy and Olive Najjuma every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
