Fatboy : How Different Is A Housewife From A Housekeeper ?

RX Radio Presenter James Onen aka Fatboy has today expressed curiosity over the difference between a housewife and a housekeeper in the services they offer.

This was during the Fatboy show where His Co-host Lesham revealed that she was intending to become a housewife since It has been ruled a payable full-time job in Kenya.

“If you wake up one day and ask to be paid as a housewife, that means your spouse would be your employer. It would literally render you useless since your husband could just hire a maid and access all those wonderful services including taking care of the kids,” said Fatboy.

“But that is detrimental to society because how many families do you see having nannies entirely raising the children? They are always doing it under the supervision of wives. In addition, a wife will provide emotional support and certainly won’t cheat you for these services,”

Lesham replied in dispute.

Furthermore, Fatboy insisted that women always want to do domestic work without feeling entitled to it, and if in this case they are to be paid, that would subject them to accountability of keeping the home clean and cooking which many wouldn't be comfortable with.

However, Lesham argued that since this is a payable job, it makes a woman have a variety of employers from which she would review the terms and choose the best for her. She added that since it is now a career in Kenya, it means she could also as well quit it anytime.

Lesham, who looks to start a career as a housewife next year, also said she is open to marrying Ugandan men as long as they are willing to agree to the terms and conditions of paying her as a housewife.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy and Lesham Kenogo every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio
