Fatboy And Olive: Women Will Now Have A Hard Time Proving That They Are Victims of Domestic Violence

After Johnny Depp won the defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, The Fatboy Show presenters posited that the evidence of abuse brought by Johnny Depp has marked the end of the #MeToo and #BelieveHer campaigns.

On Wednesday, the Jury unanimously found that Heard’s claims of domestic abuse in the course of her relationship with Depp, were false when she termed herself as "a public figure representing domestic violence" in an op-ed in she authored in The Washington Post in 2018.

The Jury, however, ruled that Heard could not prove her allegations making her claims of abuse false. It also found that she wrote her allegations in the op-ed fully aware that they were untrue.

The plaintiff was therefore awarded 10 million dollars of compensatory damages and 5 million dollars in punitive damages following the defamatory case.

One of the Presenters of The Fatboy Show, Olive Najjuma, said that she felt glad because the milestone did not only mark the end of the campaigns but also because as a mother to a son, it meant that men need to be listened to too.

The Presenter and her co-host James Onen aka Fatboy were contending Amber Heard’s claims of innocence after the Jury passed its verdict, and she said that it was "a sad day for women”.

“If it's a sad day for women, it is because of her, not because of Depp. It's her actions and behavior that have made it. In the future, many women will have to go lengths to prove any allegation they make against somebody. It will no longer be a matter of simply saying it happened. Now, doubt will be cast against women until it's proven,” Fatboy said.

Olive additionally said that the cases will be harder to prove because most people do not document the incidents, and those that Amber captured are the ones she could twist.

“Many women get abused, but because of what she has done, they will have a hard time proving that they are victims. And this is what has happened even in rape cases. Women that weren't raped came out to accuse innocent men of rape. When their allegations were proven false, and the real victims came out, they had a hard time proving it,” Olive said.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
