Commenting on the 27th coronation ceremony of Oyo Rukiidi IV, the King of Tooro, RX Radio presenter Olive Najjuma has expressed curiosity over when the king intends to marry.
“...but when is he showing us a wife, or we are not supposed to ask?” she said, bursting into laughter.
Olive and her co-host James Onen aka Fatboy were conversing about the King’s 27th coronation ceremony that seeks 1.2 billion shillings to take place on 12 September 2022.
According to the Minister for Culture and Clan Mobilization, also the chairman of the organizing committee of the 27th coronation celebrations, Owek Rusoke, Empango celebrations will be funded by clans of the Tooro Kingdom.
The mobilization process will have each of Tooro Kingdom’s 9 counties of Fort Portal, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko, Burahya, Kitagwenda, Kyaka, Mwenge North, and South that raise 30 million Shillings each.
In his comment about the king getting married, Fatboy said, “ I'm sure there is a long line of women, eagerly waiting to be selected.”
Unlike Princess Ruth Komntale, who got married to her American lover Christopher Thomas, Olive hoped the King marries from his tribe.
“Honestly, I'm all for inclusion and diversity but if you're a king of a certain tribe, you are its leader. The least you can do is marry from your tribe to keep its legacy going,” she stated.
The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
