Olive: Some People Are Keeping Single Because Of The Experiences Of Their Married Friends

The Fatboy Show presenters Olive Najjuma and James Onen, commonly known as Fatboy, sought to determine whether rocky marriages have ruined the reflection for singles.

Olive revealed that even though she has several friends in struggling marriages, her hopes are raised by those in happy ones.

“It's true that many people are not married based on experiences of the married friends. But like I said, I have happily married friends, and some that are not happy, when their situations are so discouraging.” Olive said.

Meanwhile, Fatboy expressed skepticism about the so-called happy marriages. He argued that ‘happily married’ is depicted by the status of the relationship at the time.

He said to Olive, “I bet you have friends who say they are happily married when they don’t know what their partners are doing outside marriage. You may know their husband has a mistress who has just given birth to a baby, but your friend will say they are happy because she has not found out yet.”

Olive said a couple remains happily married as long as one of the partners remains in oblivion. “In Luganda, we have a saying which goes like; ‘what you don’t know doesn’t hurt you’.

She also cited hearsay that most marriages work because of side chics and side niggas and only fall apart if one of the partners finds out.

The duo conclusively agreed that marriage is full of challenges, good and bad days. Olive presupposed the key to making it work being friendship and open communication.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
