Olive: Society Has Inclined Women To Lie About Their Age

Most women find it uncomfortable to disclose or lie about their age, especially during dating or conversations with the male gender.

Olive Najjuma, the Fatboy Show host, said this is because society inclines them to.

"Society has made it feel like a woman is only attractive when she is younger. That is why before a good looking 50-year-old mentions her age, people assume she is younger because, in their minds, only young women look nice and attractive," said Olive.

James Onen, the show co-host defended that society tends to attach beauty to youthfulness because younger women usually have their bodies still in shape and intact.

"When everything seems firm and perky, men tend to view that as sexy," he said.

Additionally, Olive continued that women are compelled to lie about their age due to the fear of being rejected by younger potential suitors.

"If a 36-year-old lady met a guy that's 33 and is sure that if she tells her real age he will lose interest, she probably reduces it because a few men want to date women older than them," she said.

The irony of it all, according to James, is that women nonetheless enjoy celebrating their birthdays even though their ages remain a mystery.

He however indicated that some men nowadays lie about their age when they want to date younger girls and don't want to be judged as too old for them.

Further, Mariana a contributor to the show, said most women lie about their age because they fear judgment from society.

Although she too refused to disclose her age to the presenters, she deemed it prudent for women to embrace their years on earth and be grateful to God for the years.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
