Olive Najjuma, The Fatboy Show Presenter on RX Radio has commended the Uganda Police for their operations in the fight against terrorism.
On Friday, the Joint Counter Terrorism Task Team shot a terrorism suspect identified as Adam Matovu after he jumped off the patrol vechicle while being taken to SID in Kireka. He instantly succumbed to the shots.
According to reports, the team was coming from a fruitful operation in Kampala, where it had collected an AK47 rifle without a serial number, a bag with a suicide belt containing explosives and bomb making materials.
“We should applaud the police for this given that it has been reported that we have sleeper cells for terrorists. With two bomb blasts in the past two weeks and a number of fatalities, the police should be acknowledged for working around the case and arresting all these 48 suspects in regards to the blasts,” Olive commented.
Fatboy questioned the intention of the terrorists though, asking whether it is an Islamic State attack or the ADF that is trying to destabilise the government.
However, he said that police should be commended for their efforts in putting the right criminals to justice instead of political dissidents and random people on social media. He added that citizens too have a duty to report to police any unusual behaviours as these have been used by police to identify suspects.
The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, Sarah and Lesham every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
