Olive: Muhoozi Could Have Been Promoted But Now Holds No Power

Following his Twitter meltdown a day before, President Museveni promoted the first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to full General and dropped him as Commander of land forces, replacing him with Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga.

The former Commander of Land forces, who spent only fifteen months on the job, got to his Twitter account and threatened that it would not take him and his army a fortnight to invade and capture Kenya.

His tweets sparked mixed reactions from the general public, where many assumed that its the reason for his drop as the commander of land forces.

Olive Najjuma, the Fatboy Show presenter on RX Radio, thought the reward to the first son was like a pacifier from his dad, intending to take away his power.

“Yes, he obtained this rank, but he has no other power. He is a General in the army, but they have taken away his sole responsibility as the Commander of Land Forces. He is now a bureaucrat and the Presidential adviser but won’t have any control over the army,” she said.

She reasoned there are quite a number of generals in the army without any significance attached to their titles but are keeping the ranks because they earned them.

“But when it comes to Gen Kainerugaba, he was eleven when his father took over power, and suddenly he is General. If you’re to ask how he got to that rank, that is a story for another day,” Olive added.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
