Olive: If I'm In A New Relationship, I Expect My Boyfriend To Call On A Daily

It is said that communication is the strongest pillar of maintaining a relationship. Keeping close interaction with your spouse/ partner is healthy, but how often should it be?

On The Fatboy Show today, presenters Olive Najjuma and James Onen discussed the necessity of daily communication in a relationship. According to Olive, daily interaction is only key in the early stages of a relationship.

“If we’ve just met, you have to talk to me because, in that time, we are not just talking for fun. You're getting to know me and I’m getting to know you,” she said.

In her opinion, if the couple has spent some years together, daily communication may not be necessary as long as the partners trust each other and can hold a conversation when they decide to.

“If we've been together for a long time and I trust you, I won’t hold you at ransom to call me every day. If I've just met you and we've just had a date or two, you have to call me every day.” she posited.

Meanwhile, James Onen, the co-host noted that men nowadays are the clingiest, and now plead the most for daily communication.

“But there are different ways of handling such a situation. If you call your woman and she is too busy, you pick up the phone and call another,” he advised.

However, Agatha, a caller on the show advised couples to communicate daily to keep the bond alive.

“Even if it's a text, I think it's enough because my assumption is if we are together, we need to talk regularly. If you’ve not talked to me in 3 days, you’ll find me in another relationship, I’d have joined other people.” Agatha said.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
