Olive: Countries Are Forcing Citizens To Vaccinate To Please Donors

Earlier today on The Fatboy Show, RX Radio presenter Olive Najjuma argued how countries might be mandating vaccination to clear vaccines given by donors.

She made the remarks following Ghananian authorities warnings towards foreign airlines against flying in unvaccinated foreign nationals, lest they be fined $3500 per passenger. The move, according to authorities, is meant to curb the spread of the Omicron variant, and to restrict unvaccinated foreign nationals from entering Ghana.

According to Olive, countries are now exaggerating the need for vaccination and containment of the Omicron variant yet science has proved it less lethal compared to previous variants.

“Personally I think that most African countries have more vaccines than people taking the jabs. So they are now coming up with all these threats to have the vaccines consumed so that they can please donors,” said Olive.

She added, “When we get the vaccines, they are not for free. Newspapers will report how the US has donated a certain number of Pfizer vaccines to Uganda but I believe there are conditions attached to it. Like this week in Kasese, people are being forced to take the jabs with the army using forceful means to enforce the process.”

Fatboy additionally said that forcing people to get vaccinated is abusing the right of people to make decisions regarding their health in spite of the fact that even the vaccinated can still spread the virus.

“We know that the current vaccines are not providing protection against the Omicron variant. Even if you get the Pfizer jab, you can still get infected and spread it like one who has not been vaccinated because both people will be carrying the same viral load in their nasal cavities,” he said.

“At this point, it stops being a public health argument and now an issue of personal health, one that calls for personal decision just like other health-related risks such as one deciding to drink a lot, smoke or have unprotected sex where the health experts can only give advise and leave the decision to be made solely by the individual in question,” he added.

Fatboy further argued that countries which have enforced extreme measures in curbing Covid-19 are the ones experiencing spikes in infection rates, proving that the disease is an endemic illness which will be occurring seasonally therefore requiring governments to learn to live with it rather than hoping to eliminate it.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, Sarah and Lesham every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
