Museveni: Uganda is working on its own vaccine and cure for Covid-19

As Uganda continues to experience a raise in the number of Covid-19 cases, the president of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said the country is working on getting its own Covid-19 vaccine and cure.

The President, who is also a presidential aspirant in the upcoming election scheduled for 14th January 2021, said that once he is re-elected as the President of Uganda, his government will continue to support the scientists to finish the vaccine and the cure which is already being worked on.

“We are going to get the Covid 19 Vaccines from China and that of Oxford. However our own people are also working on our own vaccine and cure. I can actually confirm we already have a cure but let it be officially confirmed first,’’ he said.

President Museveni was on Tuesday 12th January 2021 hosted on RX Radio on The Fatboy Show hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy and Oliver Najjuma.

The President further noted that out of the 11 presidential candidates, he is the only one that has the experience to take Uganda forward.

‘When NRM came into power, we forward a collapsed economy and revived it to where it is on, from scarcity of goods and services to pretty. For an economy to work, it needs jobs and wealth creation, infrastructure development, markets, peace and security. These have been on our agenda since we came in power and we are still working hard to ensure that this country moves forward by improving all those elements,” he said.

The Fatboy Show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy and Oliver Najjuma every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
