RX Radio presenter Lesham Kenogo has questioned the concept of love nowadays, that it’s compelling people to marry lovers twice or thrice their age.
During The Fatboy Show, Daniel and Lesham were commenting on a situation in which a pregnant 18-year-old girl got married to her 61-year-old godfather.
Lesham, who was seemingly shocked by the extraordinary situation, said it reminded her of ‘Honey Boo Boo,’ a reality series revolving around the family of Alana Thompson, also known as Honey Boo Boo, who has been a contestant on a child beauty pageant. “Honey Boo Boo’s mother was dating a pedophile and when the lovers separated, Honey Boo Boo then advised her mum not to reconcile with the pedophile which they ignored. This forced Honey Boo Boo to leave home,” Lesham said.
According to Lesham, age disparity in relationships is legal but not socially acceptable. She added that it's indiscreet for older persons to engage in relations with much younger individuals, seeing as they should be the ones to avoid such engagements in the first place.
“When it comes to sexual relations, I think that men are naturally more sexually mature. You could find an 18-year-old boy engaging in sexual relations with a 60-year-old woman. It is even more shocking that however weird it sounds, the boy will just be fine with it.”
She added that there are people one grows up knowing as part of family and could never cross the line, despite not being related.
Daniel then went on to jokingly say that although he has always had a hot godmother, nothing has ever crossed his mind even though they aren’t related.“ I personally have people that I am not related to but I grew up calling them uncle and aunt, a line that I could never cross, but I guess some people are just more liberal than others,” he commented.
