Fatboy: We are facilitating debates between NRM and NUP supporters on RX Radio

RX Radio proprietor and presenter James Onen aka Fatboy today morning revealed that the radio will be hosting National Resistance Movement (NRM) and National Unity Platform (NUP) give them a platform where they can discuss national issues.

Fatboy noted that the atmosphere on social media between the two groups has been so hostile and provocative to the extent of some individuals threatening to harm each other which is not good for national development.

“We are all brothers and sisters in this Uganda. It is sad that we are now considering each other as enemies because we support different political groups. As RX Radio, we want to create a platform where these two groups can physically meet, discuss and understand each other instead of castigating each other,” Fatboy said on the Wednesday morning Fatboy Show on RX Radio.

The debates kicked off today with a one Henry Lubwama, an NRM strong supporter and influencer debating against a one Arafat a NUP supporter.

In his submission, Arafat noted that the only reason NUP supporters are aggressive on social media is because they feel they are not being given an opportunity for their voices to be hard.

“Opposition supporters who are not contented with the way this country is being run feel like the only place they can freely express their grievances is social media. It is unfortunate that some NUP- supporters resort to insulting and threatening other social media users. I support NUP but even I, am against such behavior,” Arafat said.

Henry in his submission noted that the behavior of some NUP supporters on social media proves how radical the opposition in Uganda is and that is why Ugandans are not ready to support them or hand them power.
