When couples want to spend more time together, the male partners often hand out a copy of their apartment keys to their significant other.
On The Fatboy Show Wednesday morning, while exploring the question of how long before one shares their apartment keys with their lover, James Onen, popularly known as Fatboy, said the decision should be after the honeymoon phase.
“First wait for the honeymoon phase before you start entertaining those thoughts because, in that phase, the hormones are doing the thinking, you don't even know what you're doing because you're both just in each other’s things,” Fatboy said.
According to him, the honeymoon phase ranges between 2 -3 weeks or could stretch to 6 months depending on the circumstances of the relationship.
“You might want to wait until all the buzz and excitement has faded to where you can start to appreciate the other person for reasons other than the more basic sexual urges which might confuse your mind in the earlier period,” he advised.
Fatboy explained that due to sexual starvation, one could make a rush decision to hand his keys to his partner. But when the excitement dies down, they might even find each other incompatible.
Olive Najjuma, another host of the show, opined that if one must give their significant other keys to their place, it should take at least a year because anytime shorter is a rush.
She also advised ladies with access to their boyfriends' apartments to reduce their time of stay if they want to be longed for.
