RX Radio Presenter James Onen aka Fatboy has today morning stated that the recent numerous bomb attacks makes one lose confidence in security agencies.
According to Fatboy, despite the President’s assurance of security, this is one of the biggest security failings his government has seen.
“After the tragic events that happened yesterday, one is left nervous of what might happen today and whether there will be more deadly instances. Given that the places that were targeted are in the central business district, it questions whether there’s anywhere safe in the country,”Fatboy said.
However Sarah, the Co-host on the show, said that the security agencies should at least be commended for their efforts that managed to get two bombs detonated which could have worsened the situation.
“I think we should give credit where it is due because they were able to find two other bombs around Kooki Tower and Buganda road and they were able to avert the dangers of the situation. So even though they weren't able to prevent this from happening, let's applaud them for having found the other bombs because if they hadn’t, probably the effects would have been more devastating than they are,” Sarah explained.
She further encouraged the public to be vigilant and beware of their people in their surroundings as encouraged by the police as the only way to keep safe now.
The attacks that claimed 6 lives, injured 33 and left 5 in critical condition have been claimed responsibility by the Islamic State defying the earlier claims by government that had attached the attacks to the Allied Democratic Forces.
The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, Sarah and Lesham every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
