The Fatboy Show presenter James Onen has proposed that men should marry at age 75 to women that are relatively old.
He gave the bizarre opinion during a discussion with his co-host Olive Najjuma about the right age one should marry.
“I think men should marry at 75 if they live that long because at that time your battery has run out, the machinery is not functioning properly and a woman equally old will be ready to settle,” Fatboy reasoned.
According to Fatboy, it is better for a woman to get married after living her life to the fullest and having children so that in her 70s, she is ready to commit.
But Olive disputed the opinion saying that many men marry with the primary purpose of having children and keeping their legacy before they grow old.
Fatboy insisted that if a man marries while still young, the marriage woes will affect their productivity.
“I think if a man marries when he’s fairly young, it becomes a huge impediment to his progress in life because there are high chances that he will end up with a not a very good wife,” he said.
“You try to focus on your hustle while the woman will be stressing you. So you would rather have a clear mind and at 75, after building your empire you invite in someone else. At least at that age, you have accomplished everything and you are ready to die anyway,” Fatboy explained.
Still contending the age factor, Olive mentioned that although most men will not agree that a woman contributes to their success, they still do either morally or financially.
According to the Goldilock theory, the right age for one to marry should not be too young or too old, basically between 28- 32, and there are limited chances of divorce.
Carrie Krawiec, a Michigan family and marriage therapist says that the age is when a couple understands if they seek compatibility with their partner and are also willing to adjust their lifestyle and habits to accommodate the other person in their life.
