Fatboy: If I Were To Retain The Things I Gifted My Exes, They Would Start A Shop

In a discussion on whether or not former lovers should ask back the gifts given to each other after a breakup, The Fatboy Show presenter James Onen said that if he were to request back for his, they would make start-up capital for a business.

Although he admitted that he would never ask for a gift given to a former lover, he said, “If I were to just ask back for the things I’ve given, I think I can start a shop because for me If I like you, I give you things.”

But the co-host of the show, Olive Najjuma, opined that when most men break up with their girlfriends, they will ask for their gifts back, especially cars.

She gave an instance of Alex Rodriguez who took back his car after breaking up with Jennifer Lopez. Fatboy defended that Arod did so because it was a Lamborghini not any ordinary car. He further asked Olive whether or not she would request back the gifts gifted to an ex after a breakup.

“No, I wouldn't. If I bought you something when I loved you, why should I take it away?” Olive replied.

Fatboy responded that it is easy for her to say, because most women gift men with cheap things such as socks and boxers that would be less painful.

“I think that's why women exit relationships more easily because they actually invest far little into it and yet for a man, if it were a mid or long term relationship,he would have spent millions in treats and gifting his woman,” said Fatboy.

“I see men buying their girlfriends computers, laptops or expensive phones. I would guess that at least 95 percent of high end phones are gifted by men to ladies. I'm not saying all women can't afford it, but there’s a 95 percent chance some dude gave it to her,” Fatboy said.

However, he cautioned women against being hoodwinked when gifted property by men, unless it indicates them as the owners. “A man could have a house and ask you to move into it, assuring you that it's now yours. So you stay there thinking it's your home but as soon as the relationship ends, you have to pack your things and leave,” Fatboy added.

Olive hence reasoned that she would prefer being given money to buy herself a gift than being bought one, because this way she would have assurance of it being put in her name.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive and Sarah every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
