Fatboy: Gen. Muhoozi Needs To Directly Address Kakwenza’s Maltreatment

Following social media circulations of satirical Novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija’s torture scars, RX Radio Presenter James Onen popularly known as Fatboy has proposed that the Commander of Land forces Lt. Gen Muhoozi, who seems to be creating an image of a statesman, needs to come out and clear his name on the issue.

This was after Kakwenza shared a video of himself showing his torture marks and scars stretching from across his back to his thighs and feet. It is alleged that the novelist was picked from his home in Kisaasi by plain-clothed men who whisked him away in a numberless vehicle on December 28, 2021 after he made abusive statements on Twitter towards President Museveni and the first son Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

After several days without information about his whereabouts, Kakwenza was finally arraigned before court on January 11th and charged with two counts of offensive communication.

“If Muhoozi is really serious about turning himself into a larger political figure than he is, then it is important that he directly addresses what the public have seen in that video. Because if you are being marketed like a nice, affable person who could potentially be our next president, then how can you mistreat someone who calls you fat on social media?” Fatboy questioned.

Being an active social media user, Fatboy said that it's not uncommon to be insulted. “Social media is the wildest with people saying all kinds of things but we are all used to that. When we post ourselves on social media, you expect people to say something about how your nose, hair or teeth look. But because I’m offended therefore the abuser shoud be abducted and tortured; I feel like that is a stretch.”

Olive Najjuma, the Co-host of the show, said that Muhoozi as a person of high caliber is privy to all information that even the public can’t access and therefore can’t claim to be unaware of the happenings surrounding the arrest and torture of Kakwenza.

Fatboy then went on to comment that even if he was innocent and someone else maltreated Kakwenza, then at least he should have summoned the responsible parties and ordered them to release Kakwenza so as to protect his image.

“This does not only reflect poorly on him, but also on the army, the government itself because he’s the first son and his father is the President of this nation, so it looks bad in every angle,” Olive argued.

Fatboy stated that this was to forever affect the General’s reputation and on the international scene, he would consequently be questioned about it.

Without quick recourse for such cases, Olive commented that crimes conffered on politicians like Allan Sewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya are meant to take up their time and money hence rendering them unproductive to their constituencies. This can consequently make voters elect other people in the next elections because cases like Kakwenza’s are used as examples to frighten people.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, Sarah and Lesham every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
