Today during The Fatboy Show, James Onen said that Covid-19 has unveiled the desire for political heads to control people and their actions.
“Many people in authority enjoy the power trip of wanting to control others, and because Covid -19 presented justification for doing so, it just brought out the worst of these instincts in political leaders,“ said Fatboy.
He made the statements after the Kenyan government issued a vaccine mandate for people to gain access to banks, restaurants and all public places. In addition, service providers have been urged to only cater to people that can show proof of vaccination.
According to Fatboy, scientific research shows that people who become politicians tend to have sociopathic tendencies, and Covid might have presented the golden opportunity for them to override their power while being unwilling to discontinue the acts.
In response to Fatboy’s comment, Olive, the co-host on the show, explained that scientific evidence showed that the Omicron variant is less lethal, highly treatable and yet governments continue to suspend flights and close borders.
Furthermore, Fatboy agreed with other people’s opinions that the Omicron variant might be the vaccine to end the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It’s less severe with mild symptoms and the infection causes a person to gain natural immunity from the antibodies released by their body which can be generated to fight identical future viruses, similar to the protection offered by a vaccine,” the Presenter explained.
In addition, Fatboy was of the view that President Museveni might place similar measures to contain the Omicron variant including putting in place vaccine mandates to restrict access to public places, especially bars.
Olive similarly asserted that the President could extend the full reopening of the economy to two weeks, after which he might decide to extend it for a few more weeks.
“This would be terrible because right now parents are confused on whether they should or shouldn't pay school fees. Schools might be opened and then closed after a few weeks just like how it was in June,” she said.
The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, Sarah and Lesham every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
