Fatboy: Bobi Wine supporters are not different from the Mbonye believers

RX Radio Presenter James Onen a.k.a Fatboy has criticised supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for being irrational and having blind faith in their leader.

Fatboy said that just like the believers of Prophet Elvis Mbonye, the Bobi Wine supporters are blinded by their love and belief in him that they cannot recognise any wrongs that Bobi Wine does adding that they tend to believe that Kyagulanyi is infallible.

He was referring to a recent incident where the NUP supporters overwhelmingly attacked Stella Nyanzi, a former Kampala Woman member of parliament aspirant on social media for criticising Bobi Wine.

Stella who is currently in Kenya where she fleed over allegations of political persecution has been attacking Bobi Wine in several social media posts for being selfish and not caring about the safety of his supporters. Her account has been suspended by Facebook after it was reported.

“Although stella Nyanzi is a politically lost sheep, the attack on her by the NUP supporters shows how radical they are. It has been the same story from the start; they just jump on whoever attacks their principal. With this kind of blind support, Bobi Wine will not grow as a politician” he said.

His co-host Olive Najjuma also noted that the supporters of Bobi Wine sometimes irrational in their reactions.

“She has a right to criticise whoever she wishes. I actually admire her confidence. She does not fear anyone. Bobi Wine is not a god that he cannot do any wrong,” she added.
