Last week, the internet was on fire over a viral video of students belonging to Lubiri High School captured engaging in public sex acts in a Midland High School bus headed to an agricultural trip in Jinja.
Although many people condemned the acts and blamed the school for the inappropriate behavior, some reasoned that it was a usual happening in mixed schools.
Presenters of The Fatboy Show, James Onen a.k.a Fatboy and Olive Najjuma, said that the incident demands for sex education in schools adding that the behavior was not to blame on the school but on the parents.
Fatboy said, “people are acting like this is the first time this has ever happened as if in their days they weren't doing the same in the dining hall, during prep time, or in the library.”
Olive said she never engaged in any of the acts even though she attended mixed schools and heard stories about students involved in similar incidents on the school premises.
She believed that if sex education is taught in schools and coupling is allowed, perhaps teenagers wouldn’t do such activities on buses or in other places.
On Sunday, the administration of Lubiri High School owned up to the students on the Midland High School bus after confusion about the students on it.
In their statement, the management admitted that the students on the bus were headed to Jinja for an agricultural show, adding that the filmed acts were “just a mere dance that is part of the school’s co-curricular activities."
Yesterday, Police spokesperson Fred Enanga also said that investigations on the matter are ongoing.
The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy, Olive, and Sarah every weekday from 6 am to 10 am on RX Radio.
