Fatboy: NRM is not gaining anything by having Bebe Cool an influencer

RX Radio Presenter James Onen a.k.a Fatboy has said the ruling party, National Resistance Movement (NRM) is not gaining anything from having celebrities like Moses Ali a.k.a Bebe Cool, Catherine Kusasira, Butcherman and Full finger as political influencers.

Fatboy said that someone being popular does not guarantee that they have any influence on changing the perception of the population.

“Have you seen the kind of reaction Bebe Cool gets whenever he posts anything political especially about the NRM, there is always a thread of insults in comments. People that love and vote NRM don’t need any encouragement and those who hate it hate it, they would not change because Bebe Cool or Full Figure has told them to do so.” Fatboy said on Thursday’s The Fatboy show.

His co-host Olive Najjuma however noted that some Ugandans do not have any idea what is going on politically in this country and would probably vote a certain person because someone they believe in told them to do so.

“Look at some Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s supporters. These guys don’t even care what Bobi Wine says or what policies he is proposing, they are just supporting him because he's popular,” Olive said.

Fatboy on that note argued that Bobi Wine’s supporters do not support him because he is popular but because they believe he is capable of challenging President Yoweri Museveni just like they did believe and supported Besigye in the past years.
