The Fatboy Show Presenters Fatboy and Lesham have reacted to the ongoing rumors concerning the return of Erik Killmonger, played by Michael.B.Jordan, as a character in Black Panther 2.
Following the death of Chadwick Boseman who played the role of T'challa in Black Panther, there has been confusion amongst fans who kept wondering as to who would replace his character in the movie and the movie’s continuity .
To start with the positives, Fatboy said that a section of fans would be thrilled and excited to see Killmonger back. However, it also brings into question the change in storyline that might leave a bitter taste for those who had got closure to appreciate him for who he was in the first story.
Lesham who seemed puzzled about the character’s role in the second Black Panther movie said that; “I’m genuinely wondering which role he is going to play, because he died from being a villain. So is he going to be a villain this time or a hero?” she wondered.
Nevertheless, Fatboy said that Killmonger might return as a character arc, a term that relates to the opposite change of a character’s behaviour and perception as they interact with situations within the story.
He said that perhaps Killmonger in the second movie will be the character arc that will become the hero, although it seems unlikely that he would replace the role of Black Panther and protect the land of Wakanda that he had once tried to take over.
