Fatboy: Curfew is Pointless if People are being killed by Machete-wielding Thugs

RX Radio Presenters James Onen aka Fatboy and Olive Najjuma have said that the curfew restrictions are proving to be ineffective and pointless due to the surging numbers of people continuing to be murdered.

The duo were commenting on the recent killings in the Masaka sub-region by machete-wielding thugs that have increased the death toll to 28 with at least 2 killings being done per day. In Fatboy’s opinion, the curfew initially installed to control crime has instead led to the questioning of its relevance.

“People were saying that the lockdown and curfew are necessary to protect against crime but now we are seeing a crime wave of machete thugs, so why is it being enforced?” he questioned. “And it's not like the security forces don’t have the resources because they are always going after certain political figures and their supporters so I think they should do the same with these assassins,” he added.

However, according to Olive, the killers may be a political group aimed at portraying the government and the country’s security as incompetent.

“This particular group kills people but doesn't take anything away from them, these could be a group of people that are trying to undermine the government security to show them that they are incapable of protecting citizens and resolving crime.” Olive commented.

The Fatboy show is hosted by James Onen aka Fatboy and Olive Najjuma every weekday from 6am to 10am on RX Radio.
